After waiting tables, working in retail and slaving away in foodservice for close to a decade, she realized furthering her education was vital to both her personal quality of life and her ability to contribute to society. Two masters degrees later, it is still the experience of feeling like school wasn’t a safe, supportive or useful environment that drive her as an educator.
